Meet Nozomi
Meet Nozomi from Japan. An accountant & web designer in the making, who started off riding on the back of her boyfriend's bike. One day she decided that she didn't just want to be a passenger, and took a shot at the wheel. Overcoming her uncertainty of whether she actually could ride, she gave it a try. Now she completely loves being the driver and loves riding her Ducati Supersport. When she’s not boxing to increase her strength, she’ busy showing the world, that smaller women can ride big bikes too.
What bike do you ride?
Ducati Supersport in Titanium gray
Why did you choose this bike?
I saw a photo of the Ducati Supersport on the Ducati website and I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. I loved the colour, the shape, not to mention the design. Soon after, I went to the dealer to see it in person and to check if it fit my size. Luckily for me, it did, perfectly.
What inspired you to get your license?
I started out riding on the back of my boyfriend’s motorcycle. As much as I enjoyed it, I felt like I was missing out and started wondering how it would feel to have and ride my own motorcycle. When I was debating whether I should get my license or not, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. But I wouldn’t know if I didn’t try, so I just went for it.
What were your biggest challenges
Finding a motorcycle that fits me was my biggest challenge. I wanted a big motorcycle, but at the same time, I needed a bike that I felt confident riding on, especially for my first one.
How tall are you?
162cm / 5.3 feet
What do you enjoy about biking?
I like that it adds more thrill to my life. I enjoy taking photos wherever I go on my motorcycle and I post them on Instagram to show the world that girls can ride a large motorcycle too.
Are you the only biker in your family?
Yes!
What advise would you give to people who want to start?
I’d advise people to give it a try and then decide over time whether to continue or not.
